La galerie de La Tour Morillon a le plaisir de recevoir pour cette premi\u00e8re exposition de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2026, Anne-Catherine de Cavel, peintre et graveuse. Elle nous propose de d\u00e9couvrir une s\u00e9lection de ses \u0153uvres intitul\u00e9e <\/span>Double je(u)<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Des aveux m\u00eame de l\u2019artiste, sa relation avec le monde de la cr\u00e9ation picturale, c\u2019est l\u2019histoire d\u2019une \u00ab vocation rat\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb. Le Baccalaur\u00e9at en poche, elle s\u2019\u00e9tait inscrite \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole des Beaux-Arts de Rennes et en histoire de l\u2019art. Mais \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, sa professeure de philosophie lui conseilla plut\u00f4t d\u2019engager des \u00e9tudes de psychologie. Elle abandonna son projet initial et elle suivit les conseils de son enseignante, ce qui la mena vers une carri\u00e8re \u00e9loign\u00e9e du monde des arts. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cependant, apr\u00e8s avoir mis en veille pendant des ann\u00e9es ses aspirations artistiques, elle retrouva l\u2019enseignement du dessin et de la peinture d\u00e8s le milieu des ann\u00e9es 1980.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sa passion pour l\u2019univers de la peinture l\u2019amena \u00e9galement reprendre les r\u00eanes du salon artistique du Val d\u2019Or, \u00e0 la suite de la disparition de son cr\u00e9ateur, Valentin Ponseti. De 2005 \u00e0 2018, en tant que pr\u00e9sidente de l\u2019association des amis des Val d\u2019Or, entour\u00e9e d\u2019une \u00e9quipe de b\u00e9n\u00e9voles investis, elle fit vivre cet \u00e9v\u00e8nement artistique important dans le saint-amandois.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anne-Catherine aime l\u2019ambiance d\u2019atelier. Elle travaille les s\u00e9ries, varie les techniques et explore les moyens d\u2019expressions plastiques. A la Tour Morillon, elle pr\u00e9sente deux univers \u00e0 la fois oppos\u00e9s et compl\u00e9mentaires\u00a0:<\/span><\/p>\n

– <\/span>Dans la grande salle, les peintures de grands formats inspir\u00e9es du vent qui donne le mouvement aux voiles et aux drapeaux color\u00e9s,<\/span><\/div>\n
– <\/span>Dans le couloir, les gravures en noir et blanc, de plus petits formats, consacr\u00e9es au monde animalier.<\/span><\/div>\n

D\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9, une expression libre, color\u00e9e aux fronti\u00e8res de l\u2019abstraction, de l\u2019autre, un travail minutieux, tr\u00e8s graphique et figuratif. Certains ne verront pas de lien et de parti pris de l\u2019artiste, le regrettant, tels les garants de la doctrine dominante au XX\u00e8me si\u00e8cle qui voulait qu\u2019un artiste ait un \u00ab\u00a0style\u00a0\u00bb et se cantonne \u00e0 une identit\u00e9 de surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

De quel droit un artiste n\u2019aurait-il pas le droit d\u2019explorer des univers diff\u00e9rents et de s\u2019exprimer librement en ne revendiquant aucun \u00ab\u00a0style\u00a0\u00bb exclusif\u00a0? Heureusement des r\u00e9centes expositions d\u2019artistes majeurs de la fin du XX<\/span>\u00e8me<\/span> si\u00e8cle et du d\u00e9but du XXI<\/span>\u00e8me<\/span>r\u00e9affirment ce droit et d\u00e9montrent de surcroit leur richesse cr\u00e9ative, lib\u00e9r\u00e9s de cette obligation de \u00ab\u00a0style\u00a0\u00bb. L\u2019actuelle r\u00e9trospective \u00e0 la fondation Louis Vuitton, de Gerhard Richter, peintre polymorphe, en est la preuve.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ainsi vous entrevoyez la raison du titre de cette exposition\u00a0: <\/span>\u00ab\u00a0Double je(u)\u00a0\u00bb. <\/span>S\u2019il s\u2019agit pour Anne-Catherine de servir deux partis \u00e0 la fois, comme l\u2019expression le laisse entendre, c\u2019est explorer deux techniques picturales tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rentes, qui sont pour l\u2019artiste deux domaines o\u00f9 elle s\u2019accorde le plaisir de jouer avec les formes, les couleurs, les techniques et les moyens <\/span>d\u2019expressions. Mais c\u2019est aussi le \u00ab\u00a0double je\u00a0\u00bb de la chanson de Christophe Willem, qui nous interroge sur les diff\u00e9rentes facettes de notre personnalit\u00e9, sur la frustration quant \u00e0 la recherche de notre identit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n
