La galerie de La Tour Morillon a le plaisir d\u2019accueillir tout le long de ce printemps 2026, Isabelle Otto, photographe, qui nous fait l\u2019honneur de pr\u00e9senter sa s\u00e9rie photographique intitul\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>le paysage, le train et le voyageur\u00a0\u00bb<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Form\u00e9e initialement aux neurosciences, Isabelle se r\u00e9oriente au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000 en int\u00e9grant l\u2019\u00c9cole Nationale Sup\u00e9rieure du Paysage de Versailles, et devient paysagiste. Cette pratique professionnelle l\u2019a amen\u00e9e \u00e0 appr\u00e9hender le paysage de fa\u00e7on analytique mais \u00e9galement cr\u00e9ative par la conception d\u2019espaces paysagers. Longtemps partag\u00e9e entre d\u00e9veloppement de projets et expression plastique par la pratique du dessin, de la sculpture et de la photographie, elle trouve aujourd\u2019hui une mani\u00e8re de s\u2019exprimer qui propose une synth\u00e8se de ses aspirations profondes.<\/span><\/p>\n

A partir de 2017, elle se consacre essentiellement \u00e0 la photographie. Elle exp\u00e9rimente le studio, le laboratoire, le grand format et les dispositifs narratifs au Centre Jean Verdier \u00e0 Paris et en formation continue \u00e0 l\u2019ENSP d\u2019Arles (paysage \u00e0 la chambre photographique).<\/span><\/p>\n

L’\u00e9t\u00e9 2020, elle quitte Paris et pose ses valises dans le Berry pour s’ancrer dans notre territoire rural. Cependant ses activit\u00e9s l\u2019am\u00e8nent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 remonter \u00e0 la capitale\u00a0\u00bb comme on dit ici. Et c\u2019est par le train que le voyage se fait, de Saint-Amand \u00e0 Paris et inversement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pour Isabelle, ce voyage en train devient une parenth\u00e8se\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0juste s\u2019assoir et se laisser\u00a0porter\u00a0\u00bb. Les paysages se succ\u00e8dent\u00a0: espaces naturels, terres cultiv\u00e9es, zones pavillonnaires p\u00e9riurbaine, espaces ferroviaires\u00a0; zones industrielles, tissu urbains denses. Le train devient un observatoire des paysages autant qu\u2019un espace de cr\u00e9ation artistique. L\u2019exposition \u00ab\u00a0<\/span>le paysage, le train et le voyageur\u00a0\u00bb<\/span> constitue une restitution de ce travail, une approche \u00e0 la fois analytique et po\u00e9tique du territoire travers\u00e9 par ce ruban de chemin de fer de pr\u00e8s de 300 kilom\u00e8tres de long. <\/span><\/p>\n

Si Isabelle peut nous communiquer des informations g\u00e9ographiques, en pr\u00e9cisant les coordonn\u00e9es de ses prises de vues, elle nous offre en priorit\u00e9 une lecture sensible du territoire. Un territoire en mouvement, qui d\u00e9file, apparait et disparait, s\u2019inscrit de mani\u00e8re plus ou moins floue dans notre m\u00e9moire. Ainsi, il n\u2019est pas uniquement question d\u2019espace, le temps s\u2019invite dans son \u0153uvre photographique, la relativit\u00e9 aussi.<\/span><\/p>\n
